Welcome to the Australian Trade Statistics Database
Access current and historical Australian agri-food trade statistics by product and country.
Data
- Data is sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), and the Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia (DAFWA).
- Export data is updated monthly and is accessible 25 working days after the end of the month.
- Import data is updated bi-annually and is accessible 25 working days from the end June and December.
For essential information on sources, limitations and classification of data, refer to classifications above.
Creating a report
Export and import reports can be generated by country or by product and within the reports there are the following options:
- Measure either value ($A) or quantity (tonnes)
- Country of origin or destination
- Product either commodity group (e.g. Meat), commodity (e.g. Beef) or product (e.g. Beef primal cuts)
- State of origin or destination (All states within Australia or total)
- Time period (financial years or individual months)
- There are two report output options either PDF (requires an Adobe Acrobat © reader) or CSV (Comma Separated Value) format. PDF format enables neat printing and emailing, however selections are limited to six columns (eg two States for three years) to enable output to fit on an A4 page. CSV format enables unlimited selections and may be saved and then opened in Microsoft Excel © for further analysis of the data.
Export trade data is available up to March 2012
Even though the units for quantity are "tonnes", units for all liquids and live animals are litres and numbers respectively.
